divider with heart

Full Cup LLC was established in 2023 by owner and Clinician Jess Rousselle. Full Cup LLC strives to ensure that anyone who is seeking counseling services can do so in a comfortable environment with staff and clinicians who genuinely care and want to help.

Full Cup LLC was established with the belief that everyone will be accepted no matter their walk of life, and that they will feel valued  throughout the therapeutic process! In addition, we believe that talk therapy is just ONE PART of the healing whole, and are habitually looking for new ways to engage clients and introduce them to new ways of thought, through activities and experiences or connecting them to the appropriate supports and resources in the community.

Full Cup values AUTHENTICITY! We believe that good therapy happens only once you have established a great rapport with your therapist. We strive to hire therapists with different expertise and ideas on how to best help clients. We know that everyone does not get the same benefits from traditional psychotherapy, and it is our goal to offer OPTIONS for ways clients can get their therapeutic needs met.

Some of the approaches our clinicians draw from include the following:  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy , Mindfulness based approaches, spiritual practice/ psychotherapy combo and more!

Our Commitment

While we know that therapy, of all kinds,  is an important piece of what we do, we additionally will work to find innovative ways to increase connections within the community by establishing after school leadership and advocacy groups as well as social and skill-based clubs for youth and adults.

Ever since I can remember I have had a desire to help others, whether that was helping a teammate perfect her softball swing, or standing up for peers who were being bullied. It has been in my nature to ensure that all people I come across feel cared about and know that they are not alone.

Growing up in a blended family  with limited means, I have learned some about struggle.  Even during  the most difficult times however,  I have found that there are things that can greatly influence your growth and development as a human; things like: having someone who believes in you, a full belly, hard work, love, and a lot of laughter. I try to incorporate these beliefs in my sessions with clients to help them attain their personal goals.

In addition to my personal beliefs and background, I hold a Bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State University, where I was also a proud student athlete, playing 4 years of Collegiate level softball (Go Panthers!). From there, I went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Boston University.

I have held many positions  in the field of social work. I have worked for community mental health agencies, where we were working directly in the homes of our clients, inpatient hospital settings and most recently public schools. My favorite part in all of these positions has been the great people I’ve had the opportunity to work with, both  clients and professionals alike. In 2015, I began a small private practice.

Over the past few years I have had dreams of creating something different and expanding my practice to include more groups, consult work, professional development seminars and to build greater connections to the community in order to bring awareness and education to mental health issues, particularly those affecting families, young people and children. It was finally in 2023 that I was able to make my dreams a reality and expand to Full Cup LLC! I am so glad that you have found us!

I have been interested in people’s stories for as long as I can remember! As a child, I have memories of asking my family members to tell me stories of their childhoods or of family members who I never had the chance to meet. I found great comfort in hearing these histories for a variety of reasons. Once I could read, forget about it! I loved to get acquainted with new characters and their worlds. As I got older, and could read beyond the Berenstain Bears, I enjoyed exploring character development on a different level. Why did Jo March in Little Women refuse to marry Laurie?! I still enjoy reading, but these days, my interest in stories has expanded to other forms of media and pop culture. In addition to learning about you, I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on the most recent cast of Real Housewives of NYC or whatever show may be your guilty pleasure! I am sure you’re wondering why I am sharing all of this, but I like to think these interests are part of the reason I pursued a career working with people. I love stories. I love how stories shape us. I love the power we have to shape our stories.

Like many people, I also grew up with family members and friends who have experienced mental health challenges. These stories became part of my story and contributed to my already existing desire to help people. Helping people has looked different for me throughout my life. I have volunteered in different capacities, I have supported friends through difficult times, and I have had many jobs where the job descriptions could simply be summarized as “helping and serving people.” I studied psychology at Saint Anselm College and went onto get my Master’s degree at Salem State University in Counseling and Psychological Services. I then completed the requirements to earn my LMHC. I have had the privilege of working in inpatient settings, at community based mental health centers in Lynn, Salem, and Malden for 8 years and most recently work as a school clinician in a high school. My professional story continues here at Full Cup LLC.

I would describe my therapy style as warm, non-judgmental, and skills based, with some humor thrown in! I love the saying “If we don’t laugh, we will cry.” But crying is ok too! I hope we get the opportunity to work together so that I can support you in your story.

Growing up I was constantly told that I should be a social worker when I grew up. In high school, I took a skills inventory test and the only job it recommended was social work. A mix of wanting to pave my own path combined with stubbornness veiled as teenage angst, I decided to do the opposite and go to college in Washington, DC to study politics. After graduating with a degree in Political Science from American University, I returned to Massachusetts to work on political and issue-based campaigns. Soon, I found myself working for the non-profit Institute for Healthcare Improvement where I was immersed in public health and community organizing. One of the projects was teaching adolescents community organizing skills so they could better their community. Realizing how much joy it gave me to work with young people, I decided to go to school for clinical social work.

I graduated with honors from Simmons University with a Master of Social Work and a certification in school adjustment counseling. I have worked in therapeutic school settings, community hospitals, and recently ran a program at a local High school that supported students returning to school from hospitalization or a serious mental health disruption (known as the BRYT program). Currently my full time employment is at the  Brookline Center where I have continued with the BRYT program in a different role.

I love working with young children and young adults. Like Mr. Rogers, I believe that feelings are mentionable and manageable. There is no feeling that is too scary to talk about and process. I utilizes many approaches for therapy such as DBT, CBT, and psychodynamic theory. When working with clients with ADHD or learning disabilities I combine therapeutic practices with executive functioning skills. I am an LGBTQ ally and my office is a safe space to process gender and sexuality questions. My therapy style is warm, unassuming, and nonjudgmental and my clients know that I believe crying is just as important as laughing!  I consider my therapy practice as inclusive and pay special attention to systems that may prevent access for treatment and support.

From an early age, I was drawn to helping others. I understood that my calling was to support people and had empathy for the various challenges they encountered. After earning my degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, I joined AmeriCorps, where I worked in Boston Public Schools. Armed with my psychology degree and a stash of gummy bears, I helped students navigate their rollercoaster of emotions. This experience made me realize the profound impact of positive relationships and support.

After my time with AmeriCorps, I earned my MSW from Salem State University and spent five years advocating for children and families in complex situations. This role deepened my understanding of resilience and the need for nurturing environments. These experiences solidified my commitment to supporting individuals, leading me back to public schools to continue providing essential support.

In my therapy practice, I approach sessions with empathy, compassion, and insight infused with a sense of humor—because laughter can be a powerful tool for healing. I believe creating a safe and welcoming environment is essential for fostering open communication and trust. I encourage clients to share their thoughts and feelings freely, knowing that this space is judgment-free and supportive. Together, we can explore your unique experiences, identify patterns, and develop strategies for navigating challenges. My aim is to empower you to gain greater clarity and confidence in your journey, helping you to not only understand your emotions but also to cultivate resilience and growth. No matter what challenges we are tackling in session, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
